PESTS & DISEASES

In the PESTS & DISEASES section of the website, the main pests and pest plants of agricultural crops are presented, along with pathogenic organisms and natural or non-parasitic agents that can cause minor or major plant diseases. And if the definition of what constitutes damage and disease to a plant is debatable what is not debatable is the damage and disease caused to crops, which damages and burdens the professional or amateur grower and farmer, increasing the cost of producing agricultural products or destroying entire crops. So from here will parade insects, mites, nematodes, snails and slugs, fungi, bacteria, viruses, weeds and invasive plants. The groups to which they belong will be examined in general, while in particular, for each pest and pathogenic microorganism separately, a description of its morphology, biology and the environment in which it develops, matures and completes its generations will be given. Detailed information will also be given on the damage they cause to cultivated and, more generally, to plants in urban, agricultural and natural landscapes. Wherever possible, the so-called non-parasitic diseases of plants will also be discussed - if we have the gift of good health after all.

Clarification
Of course, it is needless to say – but we will emphasize it – that in this handmade website, no article has been and will not be written with recourse to Artificial intelligence (AI). Natural Intelligence, that is, as much of it as we have and for as long as we are allowed to have it, is enough for us.

“Because I know that time is always time
And place is always and only place
And what is actual is actual only for one time
And only for one place
I rejoice that things are as they are”
